Simple Food
While fine dining and three course dinners are a wonderful experience in Ireland, its the simple food found in local markets, cafes and the B&Bs that I often find most memorable. Breakfast kept us fuelled for a full day of sightseeing, and the buffets often boasted such fine selection that overeating became a constant threat to my waistline. None better than the spread provided by Brian and Helen at Castlewood House in Dingle. Bread and butter pudding for breakfast? Yes please, the diet can wait another day.
Barry recommended a simple meal of fish and chips at McDonagh’s after our on Inishmore, an inspired choice because they always taste better after a day near the sea.
